Ceremony Parking

Parking at Scott Stadium (1815 Alderman Road) will be available for all five Final Exercises ceremonies (map). Guests will be required to vacate the stadium parking lots within 30 minutes of the ceremony's conclusion, and tailgating will not be permitted. Long term parking is available at the Emmet Ivy Parking Garage (123 Emmet Street) or the John Paul Jones Arena (295 Massie Road).

Road Closures

For each of the five Final Exercises ceremonies, there will be intermittent road closures to accommodate each procession. McCormick Road will be inaccessible between University Avenue and Engineer’s Way from approximately 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and again from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. on each day with ceremonies. Actual closure times may be longer, based on movement of the graduates. Additionally, Whitehead Road (from Rice Hall to Stadium Road) and Stadium Road (from Whitehead Road to the Stadium Garage entrance) will be intermittently closed during these same time frames to support the Final Exercises procession. Access to parking lots and side streets off each of these roads will not be possible when the roads are closed. Stadium Road will also be closed for approx. 20 minutes following the conclusion of each of the Final Exercises ceremonies.

For faculty/staff who aren't participating in the Final Exercises ceremonies but need to come to Grounds, you can find information about where to park on ceremony days as well as adjustments to the UTS routes on Parking and Transportation's website. P&T will also communicate directly with permit holders for parking lots that will be affected by Finals events.

Student Drop Off Locations

For students being dropped off at the Rotunda for the start of the procession, please use the parking spaces along University Avenue near Nameless Field. For students unable to participate in the procession, drop off is available at the Stadium Road entrance of the South Parking Garage between 7:45-8:45 a.m. and 12:45-1:45 p.m. (map).

Shuttle Service

University Transit buses will be running from the John Paul Jones Arena to Grounds on Friday, May 21 and Monday, May 24. There are no shuttles for Saturday or Sunday Ceremonies.
