Academic Regalia
Faculty assisting with Final Exercises as banner carriers, marshals, and members of the Assembly and Seating groups will need to dress in academic regalia. Regalia may be rented or purchased through the UVA Bookstore. For those who need to order rental regalia, please send an email to [email protected] by Wednesday, March 29 to have the cost of your regalia covered by the Office of Major Events.
Rental Regalia: Faculty members who are interested in ordering a rental gown, which comes with a mortarboard and tassel, and/or a doctoral hood, should contact the UVA Bookstore at (434) 924-3721 by no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 29. Regalia can be picked up from the University Bookstore at the following times:
- Wednesday, May 15 - Friday, May 17: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Saturday, May 18: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Sunday, May 19: 7 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Rented academic regalia must be returned to the University Bookstore at the following times:
- Saturday, May 18: 12 to 5 p.m.
- Sunday, May 19: 12 to 5 p.m.
- Monday, May 20: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Individuals are responsible for the cost of unreturned regalia. A late fee will be charged for rental regalia not returned by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 20.
Purchased Regalia: For faculty who wish to purchase academic regalia, the order deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1. Order forms can be faxed to the UVA Bookstore at (434) 982-2165 or dropped off at the UVA Bookstore, located atop the 4th floor of the Central Grounds Parking Garage (map).

Commerce, Darden, Engineering, Law, and Medicine Faculty
Faculty in Commerce, Darden, Engineering, Law, and Medicine will pick up their caps and gowns in their respective schools and will return them to those locations.
